THE GREEN LEGION INVADES PHOENIX, SEPTEMBER 20th-24th, 2012!! Thankfully The Legion has spent many a nights in Arizona and we have that town wired too! The last time we were there, the Eagles lost in the NFL Championship game but the only one to get their a$$ beat was me. Long story there but I deserved it. Thankfully E and Mel Gregory were there to defend me (along with a bunch of other Legionnaires!). Anyway, Arizona in September you may think is really hot but it isn’t. It’s toasty, but not hot. The average daily high is 94 degrees and where we are staying, you will be cool the entire time! Plus there is SO much to do out there and bring your sticks baby because we are going to have a little outing!
Since it is the end of September, there will be no kids around at all and I’m thinking about the first ever "Green Legion Lazy River Chug!!" Yeah, take from that what you will but it could be a blast! There are three 7-story tall water slides to include a straight drop! Pool bar, and everything else you want in a water adult playground! Best thing is the $25 per person per day resort fee has been WAIVED!
The Arizona Grande has FIVE (5) different bars (technically 6 with the pool bar) and the first night (Thursday) we are hitting all of them! From Rustler’s Rooste to the Sports bar up top by the entrance to the water slides, no bar will stand a chance!
In addition to that, regardless of size, we are going to have a Green Legion Golf Tournament and I am going to show all of you how it’s done! We will figure out how to make this happen and I’ll give you more info as we go along.
Am waiting for a few things but there is a good chance we will have lower level seats. If not they will be much closer to the center of the field than we normally got. Keep your eyes open for that email. The Cardinals disappointing season last year is working in our favor right now. More to come!! In past years we have always stayed in Scottsdale. I have been waiting for an opportune time to use a new resort in a different location since it is right off the loop and literally a 10 to 15-minute cab ride to the entrance of all the bars we will be using. Let me tell you why you will love the Arizona Grande Resort, formerly Pointe South Mountain. This little gem went through a major renovation a few years ago, ALL UNITS ARE SUITES, THE RESORT HAS FIVE DIFFERENT BARS ON PROPERTY, 36 HOLES OF GOLF, AND OH, AN ENTIRE WATERPARK ON THE GROUNDS!!
Friday and Saturday nights will be in Scottsdale with our Scotts Crawl on Friday and our Pep Rally Party on Saturday! There is a Philly bar out there called The Upper Deck Bar & Grill but my personal favorite is an outside "Mexican Cantina" called Dos Gringos! You’ll love this place and we have a great relationship with them.
